Sa Mina

We had a lovely week at Finca Sa Mina with 12 people. The rooms, kitchen, and outdoor space were all in good condition, and the pool was very good too, though the paving around it could use reinforcement. Some appliances need replacing, including the dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, and kettle. The outdoor chairs are very worn.

This is a large, unusual finca in the countryside near Inca, but its equipment and furnishings let it down. For 12 people there aren't nearly enough dishes or glasses, and the refrigerator is much too small. The dishwasher doesn't clean well, there's no pool towels for guests, and the shower water is too cold. Wi-Fi is so slow it's unusable, the beds are uncomfortable, and there's no proper duvet. The ground-floor rooms smell damp and musty, and there are too few electrical outlets. The electricity bill is exorbitant, supposedly because of faulty wiring, and the cost is passed on to the tenant. It could turn into a real cost trap.

The place feels very old, from the beds to the kitchen and bathroom. Then we got an electricity bill at the end that made no sense: over 500 kWh in seven days, without using air conditioning or heating. That's impossible. We only charged a laptop, we didn't run a nuclear power plant. Beware, this feels like a scam!

The hotel was otherwise great, but watch out for the extra electricity charges.
