El Molino de la Ropería

We woke up to ants all over the bedroom, and the owner didn’t seem very bothered when we told him. He was pleasant enough, but the hospitality was limited. Not a good stay, and I won’t be back.

Lunch was quiet and enjoyable. The restaurant is run by a well-established, experienced family, and the local food came in good portions and was good quality. After eating, you can climb any of the mountains around the place.

We came away feeling at home, and would definitely return. The area is peaceful and surrounded by nature, just right for switching off. Our room was lovely and well kept, with a particularly comfortable bed. The decor has plenty of charm and is very original, with parts of the garden inspired by Alice in Wonderland. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. He suggested local hiking routes and places to eat, as the accommodation only serves breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was very good value, and dinner was delicious, made with well-prepared, high-quality ingredients. We stayed for four days and had a very positive experience.

The owner was really friendly and helped us plan the weekend, so we got to see lots of interesting places nearby. We stayed two nights and three days as a family, two adults and two children, and found the hotel cool and different from the usual. We enjoyed both dinners there. Breakfast was a little less impressive, though still more than enough for us. If we’re back in the area, we’d be happy to stay again.
