Pilar, the owner, made us feel very welcome and did all she could to help. The caves were clean and well looked after, and the pool was clean too. It’s a peaceful place to unwind between drives around the stunning area.

The family who run the place were friendly and helpful, and I’d happily stay again. The rooms are a good size, and staying underground gives the apartments a distinctive feel, like other cave homes around here. It’s also well placed for getting to the historic town of Guadix and the natural beauty of Sierra Nevada national park.

We stayed at Cuevas del Zenete for New Year’s Eve and felt at home from the moment we arrived. The quiet is absolute, so it’s a great place to disconnect and get proper rest. Pilar at reception was especially warm and attentive, and the whole team made us feel like family. The caves were much bigger inside than they looked, spotless, spacious, and well equipped. Even with the cold outside, the temperature indoors was just right, and the fireplace made everything feel magical. We also loved waking up to views of the Marquesado and Sierra Nevada mountains. Breakfast was excellent before days out with the children. We enjoyed the snow at Puerto de la Ragua, visited La Calahorra Castle, and took a trip to Guadix. We’ll be back, and hope to try the pool in summer and enjoy the caves’ natural coolness.
