Clean, warm, and gorgeous. The apartment in Silleda was superb, and the welcome was extremely helpful and friendly. I highly recommend it to anyone passing through, whether you're a pilgrim or a tourist. Top!

Juan and his wife were lovely, and they left us cookies, coffee, juice, and milk for breakfast, which was great since we were only staying one night. The huge apartment had everything we needed. It sits right on the street, but a fence surrounds it, and there's a pool. Highly recommended.

The owner was so kind to us and left a small welcome gift. She was also flexible about our arrival time. The apartment is comfortable and tastefully decorated. I'd definitely come back, and highly recommend it.

I'm writing this mainly for people doing the Camino de Santiago on foot or by bike, since unexpected things can happen along the way. I can't say anything about the apartment itself because I never stayed there. My complaint is about how the owner handled our situation, and I'd suggest thinking carefully before booking if you might need flexibility at the last minute. My friend and I were cycling the Camino de Santiago along the Vía de la Plata from Seville. We had booked the apartment for Friday, October 6th, with a cancellation policy that allowed cancellation up to three days beforehand. On Wednesday night, my cycling partner became ill and had to be collected. I decided to carry on alone and extend my stages so I could finish on Friday instead of Saturday, as planned. I had also booked a room for Thursday night with no cancellation option, but after I explained what had happened, that property promptly cancelled it at no cost. That let me stay in Ourense and ride straight to Santiago on Friday. Early Thursday afternoon, as soon as I reached Ourense, I messaged the apartment owner to explain and ask if she could waive the penalty since I wouldn't be using the booking. She politely said she was sorry, but the cleaners had already been and were booked to come again after we left, so she couldn't return any of the €72 I'd paid. I said I understood she had some costs and asked if there was any way to refund part of it, so I wouldn't lose the whole amount. She then said it wasn't only the cleaning, there was also the Booking.com commission and other costs, leaving her with about €55. She added, and I quote, "€22.50 each doesn't solve anything," and said she was sorry but wouldn't refund anything. The cancellation deadline had passed, so I know she was entitled to do that. Given what had happened, though, I think it was ethically reprehensible. We also had another booking in Granja de Moreruela. That same day, we realized we could extend our route by a few kilometers, so we called to ask if we could cancel. Otherwise we'd stay there. Víctor, the owner, said, "Don't worry, these things happen on the Camino and you have to be flexible," and, "I don't want the money of someone who isn't sleeping in my house." He cancelled our booking for free. People can make up their own minds. With the apartment, if something goes wrong at the last minute, be aware that you may lose your money.
