The port location is phenomenal, but the hotel made our holiday far more stressful than I could have imagined. We have a 9 month old daughter, and choosing the right place matters for a good trip. I wouldn’t stay here even if I were travelling alone, and I wouldn’t recommend it even if it were the last hotel on the planet. Our room had ants. When we asked to move, the manager argued with my wife and told her she was exaggerating. The room also wasn’t cleaned the next day, despite our request. Reception’s response to our complaint was “tough luck.” It was left uncleaned again the day after that. When I asked, I got a shrug, then was told it might happen sometime that day, though I’d explained we needed the room so our daughter could sleep. The staff were rude and argumentative, with no effort at customer service. The rooms are dirty and broken too: holes in the sofa, kitchen worktops and cupboards coming apart, and an extractor fan that doesn’t work. The whole place is a mess. Calling this a 4**** hotel is a joke. I’d give it a 2 if I were being very generous. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else. The port is incredible, but this hotel will destroy your soul.
