We booked this hotel for two weeks in January, expecting a quiet break. Instead, our stay became one of the most humiliating experiences we’ve had at a Marriott property. In the second week, staff asked whether workers could come into our suite to replace a glass panel. The repair wasn’t urgent or time-sensitive, and the hotel was nearly empty, so we declined. Staff acknowledged and accepted that decision. But after breakfast, my wife returned to find several workers inside, doing the repair among our clothes, personal belongings, and family items. She was then told to wait in the lobby for almost an hour because “the work had already started.” It was a serious invasion of privacy and basic guest respect. When we raised it, management didn’t take responsibility, acknowledge how serious it was, or offer a meaningful response. Instead, the front desk called with a 100€ dinner voucher “for the four of us.” We hadn’t asked for compensation. We wanted accountability and respect, and the offer felt dismissive and out of touch with what had happened. We no longer felt safe or sure strangers wouldn’t enter again without consent, so I moved my family to another hotel for the final two nights, even though we’d prepaid the full amount here. I hope nobody else goes through this. We left profoundly disappointed, with serious questions about how this property regards privacy, guest dignity, and Marriott’s standards.
