Citric Hotel Soller

We chose this hotel for a quiet spot, and it’s about an 8 minute walk from the main strip. If you want to be close to bars, shops and restaurants, bear that in mind. We stayed three nights last week in July 2023, and the room was clean, had what we needed, and had a great balcony view. The air conditioning was a lifesaver. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a good standard continental spread, and we bought a picnic lunch to take on an outing one day, which was convenient and enjoyable. The hotel felt a little dated, as expected, but that gave it a certain authentic charm and didn’t bother us.

The staff were the highlight of our stay, absolutely amazing and the best we’ve had at any hotel. A huge thank you to them all. Our room was very clean, and the shower stayed hot the whole time. The free-standing air conditioning unit was a little noisy, though it didn’t bother us much. From the front terrace there are beautiful views over the bay. It would’ve been perfect with some loungers out during the day, but it was lovely as it was. There’s no pool at the moment, though they’re looking at adding one next year. The beach is only 70-100 meters away. Our first stay at the Hotel Citric, and we really enjoyed it.

We had a great week here, and everything felt relaxed and friendly. The staff were always helpful, let us keep our own food in their fridge, and lent us plates and glasses so we could eat our own food and drinks on the terrace. They also offered us a room for storing our bikes. Not every room currently has AC, which was an issue for us at first. We switched to another room with a balcony, AC and sea view, and then everything was great. Those rooms do cost more.

We paid 650€ for a twin sea view room, which seemed good value after hearing what others paid for a week in June. The sea view was stunning, and the hotel is an easy 5 Minute walk to the start of the beach, restaurants and shops. There’s a pleasant terrace if you’re feeling social, or a balcony if you’d rather keep to yourself. The staff were nice and happy to help. The room was very basic, and the bathroom wasn’t great, though it was cleaned daily. They should consider adding a fridge to the room and updating the bathrooms.
