Right in the center of Soria, Hostal Ruiz made for an excellent stay. The staff were warm and helpful, and made me feel at home. The rooms were comfortable, the beds were well stocked, and the shared areas were great too. I had an amazing experience.

The ground-floor room was quiet and a good size, and the hostel is in a great spot. The owner was very friendly. But the beds and pillows were so uncomfortable that we woke up with neck pain, and the bed frames made noise. The wardrobe rail was crooked, the wallpaper needs replacing, and the cleanliness could be better. The sink had a “do not lean” sign because it was fitted awkwardly. Heating was a radiator with insulating tape on its cable; in the bathroom, a little heater sat on a shelf since its cable couldn't reach the floor. For what the hostel offers, I think the price is far too high.

We slept really well each night, with no noise bothering us, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the staff were attentive and friendly and made things easy for us. Highly recommended.

Fernando is a delight, and the service was excellent. Thanks to him, we managed to get a night's sleep in Soria. Everything was great.

4/10
The staff were pleasant, which was enough for a one-night stay. The bathroom looked old, though I think it was clean. The room wasn't anything special: the furniture looked about 40 years old, and the curtains were very dark, probably from dirt, though maybe just age. There wasn't even a bin liner, and the partly used toilet roll had less than half left, not enough for one night. It gave me the impression nobody had taken a moment to prepare the room before we arrived. The hostel itself also felt old and somewhat neglected.
