The rest of the stay went better, so I’ve raised my rating. The location is great and the rooms are mostly well equipped. If you have kids or need to sleep before midnight, ask for a river view to avoid the noise from the bar. At first, our room hadn’t been properly prepared, and we had to make up our own beds. The sofa beds were mattresses that pulled out from underneath, but there wasn’t room to extend both all the way, so we had to place them on the sofas. There was also extremely loud live music until at least 11 p.m., which kept our kids from sleeping. I asked whether they could turn it down and was refused. We were hoping to do outdoor activities early in the morning, so at the time I wouldn’t have recommended the hotel for anyone planning active early starts.

The location is unbeatable if you want your morning coffee right by the water. It’s a simple place and seemed a bit pricey compared with other spots I’d stayed at nearby. Breakfast was okay, about what you’d expect for the price, so I’d call this a good one-night stopover, with 4 for the location and 3.5 for the rest. I’ve never been told at other dog-friendly places that I couldn’t leave my dog alone in the room. That’s quite a problem. They do offer a dogsitter, but honestly I don’t want to pay someone to watch my well-behaved dog while I go grocery shopping or out to dinner.

We had a tiny kitchen and a separate small living room, and the front desk staff were nice. But the nights were a disaster. It was 99 degrees all week, with no AC, so we had to sleep with the windows open. Across the street, a church rang its bell every 15 minutes around the clock, including at night. Loud live music by the pool went on until midnight. We had the worst sleep of our getaway and checked out the day after arriving. The towels were flimsy and there weren’t enough for four people. Breakfast was simple but okay, at 7-8 euros per person. I regret booking here and wouldn’t stay again. Management should update the furniture and bathrooms, replace the disgusting drapes in all the rooms, and add AC throughout. Summer days are only going to get hotter, so I’d avoid this place during hot summer nights.

The hotel itself is good and the room was fine. I booked it because it listed laundry and a gym, but there’s no laundry, and the gym is a basement room with equipment that looks like broken kids’ toys.
