The beds were quite new, but horribly stiff, which was a real drawback. Apart from that, it’s a very good place for a reasonable price. The rooms are large, properly equipped, and fairly quiet, and breakfast is very good value. It looks like an old, outdated inn that’s been refurbished, with the interior in better shape than the outside. Reception is remote. The hotel has an extraordinary view over the hills from one of Spain’s top villages.

Sos del Rey is a hidden gem, and the view is wonderful from every room since they all face the same way. It’s also a very quiet, convenient spot, with the whole old town just a few minutes away on foot. We were hugely impressed, far beyond what we expected. Such a treat to stay here. I hope we can come back one day.

The dinner was a letdown: just a cold pasta salad with vegetables and tuna, then yogurt, with wine and water. It was optional, but I wouldn’t suggest ordering it. I would have gladly paid 2€ more for a decent hot soup. Pilgrims need calories, and this meal didn’t provide much. I’ve seen the other reviews and the owner’s response about it being optional and pilgrims needing to be grateful. This is still how we felt. We should have skipped dinner, though I didn’t have the energy to look for something else. Breakfast was okay, but the coffee was cold and had to be microwaved. Toast and jam were fine. The beds were comfortable, and the laundry service was great on a rainy day. My main difficulty was having only two bathrooms, each with a toilet and shower together, so there could be a wait if you just needed the toilet while others were showering or brushing their teeth in the morning.

Lovely views across the valley, and town is just a short walk away. The hotel has a great outlook back towards town and costs half as much as the old people's home (Paradore). Awsome hotel.
