Los Sombredales

The setting up on the alpine pasture is fantastic, but the room was very expensive and still damp and cold. There was mold in the bathroom, and payment was cash only. The place also felt a bit makeshift. The nearest restaurant is a 2 km walk away.

We paid €145 for one night, with no breakfast included, which felt excessive for the house. You have to go to Soto del Barco to get anything to eat or drink. The owner was very friendly, attentive when we arrived, and gave us directions and restaurant recommendations. I did have an issue with the fact that he didn't register us.

The landscape here is almost magical: a valley full of greenery, cows with their bells, and a fairytale feel to it all. The country house is magnificent and the location is stunning. Alberto was incredibly welcoming, and suggested wonderful routes along with places to experience Asturian food, culture, history, and geography. Thanks again, Alberto.

We couldn't sleep properly because every sound carried through the paper-thin walls, even in the early hours. The mattress was rock hard, and the pillows were so thin they barely covered two fingers. We also brought dinner to heat up, but the owner wouldn't let us use the microwave and told us to go to a rest area. A complete disaster, easily my worst experience so far.
