GHT S'Agaro Mar

The views are lovely, and the beach is about a ten-minute walk away, though getting back means climbing a steep hill. My room was a reasonable size but nothing special. There were coffee sachets but no machine in the room. The machine was six flights down, so we didn't bother. The staff seemed hardworking and diligent, but they also seemed to get very few breaks. We were told check-in was at 15h, while a sign in the hotel said 13h, so we lost two hours. On our first day the pool closed at 18h, leaving us to spend two hours in our room. The hotel is set up for young children, with activities and music for them, and without kids it can get tiresome. The poolside music was absurdly loud. I asked the "animadora" to lower it, but she didn't. They streamed music on Spotify's free version, adverts and all, and even played Christmas songs in August. If you want to relax, that setup makes it hard. The buffet breakfast and dinner were good, and the barbecue was reasonably good too. There wasn't any fish at the barbecue, and since I don't eat meat, I was glad the dining manager kindly arranged some for me. Even though dinner was paid for, drinks cost extra, including water, which I don't understand. It may be called a four-star hotel, but it didn't feel like one to me. The stay was a bit of a mixed bag, not awful, but I wouldn't return. It wasn't cheap.

The buffet was a highlight for us. There was a good range of delicious choices, and each day brought a new dish to try. We spent four nights here with my husband and son and had a great time. The views are outstanding, our room was charming, and the staff were attentive and really friendly. This is one of my favorite places on the Costa Brava, and we'll be back.

The location is great, and the staff were always helpful. Breakfast was great too. We stayed for a couple of nights to unwind, and having a balcony facing the beach was well worth it. The view from it was lovely, especially at sunrise. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

The pool area is nice, and it's a good location with only a short walk to the beach. The restaurant gets busy and there's plenty of food, but the hot dishes were lukewarm at best. In the mornings, the line for the single coffee machine could get long, sometimes more than 12 people. The bar is expensive.
