Hotel Emblemático Casa Casilda

We loved the family feel of this hotel in a historic building. Lanchi painted the pictures in the rooms herself, and her husband Manolo, an architect, made the furniture. They looked after us so well and served a delicious homemade breakfast. We enjoyed every minute of our short stay.

The house felt like a piece of living history. Every detail, from the iron and glass to all the wood, had its own story and was chosen with such good taste. The owners are architects and painters, and also made and designed the rooms themselves, from the pigment wall paintings to the tables and ceilings. Lanchy has created something wonderful in her own home, and she also made a magnificent breakfast. My girlfriend and I were in awe of her and the house. P.S. When we went down for breakfast the next day, my girlfriend started crying because she felt so full of joy.

It’s a quiet area with some great food options nearby, though I’d recommend hiring a car. The house is more than 300 years old and beautiful, with a stunning garden, lovely views, and really comfortable rooms. Lanchi was an excellent host, and the breakfast was delicious. The place has an amazing feel to it, and I’d happily return. Thanks again to Lanchi for the great food and beach recommendations.

We stayed in one of the two garden bungalows, which made us feel like we were out in nature. The 18th century house once held a private history collection that was a must-see on the island, and famous writers such as Jules Verne stayed there back in the day. We’d met a couple while hiking who recommended Casa Casilda, and we’re so glad we took their advice. Lanchi was a lovely, warm, welcoming host, and we felt almost like good friends. We’ll definitely stay with her again next time we’re in Tenerife.
