Los Cascayos

Abantro has some seriously steep streets, so we left the car at the bottom and walked up, which turned into a great leg workout, haha. The village is well placed for exploring Redes National Park, and the apartment worked perfectly for our first week in the area. It was clean, cared for, and had everything we needed. Diamantina and Susana were so nice, and Diamantina shared great hiking route suggestions.

The best part for us was Diamantina and Manolo. They were always available with ideas for places to see, and even booked us some excellent, affordable restaurants. They also offered to join us on excursions in Redes Natural Park and turned out to be extraordinary guides. The house and the place itself were stunning too. I've stayed in hotels, apartments, and country houses on holiday my whole life, but I've never had advice this good. Five stars hardly cover it. We recommend their houses and will definitely return. A real luxury!

Diamantina and Manolo made the stay especially memorable. They were always around to show us what we needed and more, and shared their free time and friends with us. The rural apartment itself was beautiful, comfortable, and well equipped, with such a welcoming feel that it was like being at home. A fantastic base for enjoying the area.

The cottage was great for our two nights at Abantro, with a kitchen and pellet stove. Our dog slept happily in front of the heater at night, and it was nice that the place is pet-friendly. There are some lovely trails close by too.
