The room was fine, if small, and the bathroom was a good size. The rest of the stay went well until checkout, when a woman at the reservation desk said we could take the towels to the beach. She seemed surprised we’d asked first. When we returned them, she almost refused to take them back and said they weren’t for the beach, even though she had checked us out and knew our room only had those towels. Then she complained loudly to the restaurant staff in Spanish that we’d taken them to the beach and used the complimentary drink voucher. My husband speaks Spanish, though she seemed to assume we wouldn’t understand. If guests shouldn’t use the towels or voucher, why say yes and provide one? It was an incredibly rude end to our stay.

We had a lovely room with a rooftop terrace, and everything inside the hotel seemed new. Check-in was a little complicated because reception is at another hotel around the corner, but the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.

We stayed four nights and had a really nice time. It’s in the old town with lots of restaurants nearby, and the bathroom and beds were clean and tidy. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They can put you in touch with people for windsurfing or kitesurfing too. My girlfriend’s one complaint was that our bed was two small mattresses instead of one double. It’s a calm, quiet place for a vacation, and I highly recommend it.

Vicky, the manager and receptionist, was the hotel’s best asset. She was so helpful and full of local tips about Tarifa and the surrounding area. We stayed in the two rooftop rooms, both very well equipped, with a terrace looking over the old walled town. A fabulous boutique hotel in a central spot.
