Hostal África

We had a clean, cosy apartment at Hostal Africa, and it was really quiet at night. The big terrace was lovely for breakfast and taking in the view. Everyone working there was so nice and always ready to help. I’d definitely recommend it. Thanks!

I found this lovely hostal during the off season, when it was being used for nomadic co-living, and it turned out to be the best choice for my longer stay in Tarifa. The owner has such a warm, welcoming energy. When I came back to Tarifa in May, it was my first choice again. The rooms are super clean, coffee is ready in the morning, and we had yoga on the terrace every day. I love it. It feels like home to me ❤️

I had a terrible stay at Hostel Africa. My Dyson hairdryer was stolen, and the staff didn’t help or take any responsibility. I don’t feel safe recommending this place to anyone. Avoid it if you care about your belongings.

The terrace is out of this world, and the breakfast cabinet is thoughtfully stocked. The decor is extremely tasteful, the owners are friendly and helpful, and the cleaners are delightful. They’ve also made a great recent hire with Capu, who helps bring people together and introduces guests to the non-kite-surfing side of tarifa. Their food recommendations were excellent too. These guys know tarifa like the back of their hand. The location is perfect, close to handy supermarkets and lovely brunch spots but still quiet. Thanks so much, F&F, for a wonderful stay.
