We had three rooms as a group, and none of the showers had hot water. There was no one at the desk to sort it out. On top of that, the old mattress sagged badly in the middle and was incredibly uncomfortable, so we slept poorly. When we arrived after a long journey, the hotel was closed and we had to call the number on the door to get a code for the room key. I’d stayed here over ten years ago, when it first opened, but it doesn’t seem cared for anymore. No hot water and no decent sleep. It was the worst stay I’ve had in Tarifa, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

The family-run hotel is in a great spot, with a bakery underneath. Rooms were clean and had quirky tiles for decoration. I’d recommend it, though it’s a shame there were no chairs for the bistro table on the terrace.

There was no one at the desk, and the doors were shut at 2:30pm. Noise from the cafe bar downstairs carried late into the night, then street cleaning started at 6am. I got no sleep.

The power went out in the morning, and there was no hot water. No one was at reception when we arrived or when we left.

We paid just 60 euros for two nights through Booking in low season, which was surprisingly cheap. The hotel and room were brand new and looked nice. There’s no parking nearby, and noise from the hallway was the one downside. Otherwise, a very decent stay, with plenty of places to eat around and the beach just 20 minutes away.
