The gardens were a highlight, lush and peaceful, with birds singing, lots of places to sit outside, little patios and tucked-away corners, plus a lovely pool. Our garden room had a beautiful view of the greenery and exotic trees. Beach bars for food and drink are just down the road, and Tarifa town is a short drive, though you do need your own transport to make the most of the stay. I was there for seven nights in May and loved it. The staff were kind, and when the room had a drain smell on the first night, they quickly moved me to another one. For the price, it's exceptional value and a great base for exploring the area. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely return.

The rooms are spacious, and so are the bathrooms. The air conditioning kept the room cool, and there was a lovely seating spot outside. Breakfast was plentiful, especially the freshly boiled eggs. The gardens and pool area are beautiful, and the beach is only a short distance away. One of the best hotels I've stayed in tarifa. Highly recommended 👌

We booked at the last minute because we needed a cheap place to crash, and the value was better than we'd expected. The room was comfortable and the grounds were beautiful. It's a good way outside town, which makes it peaceful and quiet. The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear the neighbors. The plumbing is typical for this region too, meaning you need to leave the windows open to let gases escape.

La Peña has a really cozy feel and sits among greenery and quiet. The rooms are small but clean and tidy, the beds are very comfortable, and the AC works perfectly. The main kite beach is a three-minute drive away. I skipped breakfast because, for me, it wasn't worth €8. I'd definitely recommend La Peña when visiting Tarifa.

Surrounded by lush, beautiful gardens, Hotel La Pena feels like a tropical paradise. It's just a five-minute walk from the ocean, outside Tarifa, and the breakfast buffet is amazing, with a real paradise-like setting for eating. Highly recommend.
