The room and breakfast were the strongest parts of our stay. Our Junior Suite was spacious, had everything we needed, and looked out over the harbor. It was quiet at night, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and breakfast had a very good, wide selection. The location was good too. We chose this place specifically because it was advertised as a hotel & spa, but using the spa cost €25 per person for 90 minutes. We stay at spa hotels regularly and had never encountered one where access cost extra. That fee wasn’t clearly shown on the hotel’s website. We booked directly to support the local business, so the lack of transparency was especially frustrating. This was our main criticism. Staff were generally friendly, though some could have been more welcoming and proactive for a four-star hotel. The pool schedule was another disappointment. It didn’t open until 10:00 a.m.; we politely asked if we could swim 15 minutes earlier since breakfast ended at 11:00 a.m. and we like morning exercise. They declined, sticking strictly to the posted hours. That felt inflexible for a hotel presenting itself as a wellness destination. The suite, breakfast, and location were very good, but the spa charge and lack of flexibility took away from the experience. Clearer information and a more customer-focused approach would have helped.

Breakfast was amazing, with all sorts of dishes, and the heated rooftop pool was a lovely spot to watch the seagulls. The old town is only a few minutes away. I also had a wonderful morning walk along the Atlantic beach. The firm sand was comfortable for walking and even cycling. One drawback: the bed had just one big blanket, and it was too hot. Separate blankets for each person would have been better.

El Patio served the best dinner I had during my whole stay in Tarifa. I’ve now stayed here three times, and each visit has been wonderful. I love the decor, and the room style suits my taste. The rooms are really comfortable, as is the hotel generally. The staff, including the breakfast buffet team, are kind and helpful, always smiling and going above and beyond. La Residencia always delivers, so I’ll definitely return. Special thanks to Celeste, Barbara and Alfonso for being so lovely.

We had a lovely rooftop bar and swimming pool, and the location made it easy to get around and close to everything I needed. We stayed for three nights for my birthday, and the team made the whole visit feel special. There was a complimentary drink in our room and a beautiful bouquet of flowers when we arrived. That personal touch made me feel appreciated right away. The spa was fantastic, with a relaxing atmosphere and staff who really went out of their way to pamper us. Service throughout the hotel was excellent, and they made sure everything was perfect. I’d love to come back.

The service deserves ten stars. We spent two nights here in September and had a wonderful time. Breakfast was unreal, and the spa was a delight. The air conditioning had an issue across the hotel for one of our nights, but the staff went out of their way to keep us comfortable. Thanks so much, we’re already looking forward to staying here again.
