La Estrella de Tarifa

Even on my own, I felt squeezed into this tiny first-floor room. There was hardly any privacy with the window looking straight onto the sidewalk and road, and I had to sit sideways on the toilet to avoid hitting the wall. The small fridge was nice. The price seemed fair for what was offered, but I’d suggest considering a larger room, even if it costs more.

The team at La Estrella de Tarifa were so kind and accommodating. They responded quickly and understood what I needed. Their helpfulness and customer service really impressed me, it’s rare to find staff this thoughtful.

I’d happily stay here again next time I’m in Tarifa. My room, number 9, was clean, cozy, and nicely decorated in blue and white. It had good facilities, including a hairdryer, TV, fridge, fan, and a wall heater. I could hear some street noise, though it wasn’t excessive and things settled down after midnight. The double-glazed windows looked out over neighboring streets and the castle. I booked directly through the hotel website because the rates were affordable, the reviews were good, and it was close to the port. Before I arrived, they sent the main door and room key box codes, which was a relief since I’d be getting there outside reception hours. The message also included the WiFi password and tourist information. It was easy to find, about a three-minute walk from the port. I visited on a Tuesday and saw plenty of people outside nearby bars and restaurants. There were a couple of ATMs along the way, too. Great customer service.

The room was clean and comfortable, with fresh towels and toiletries replenished daily. I felt so welcome and at ease that I was sad to leave. On the third floor, it was breezy and sunny, with blue and white decor and three windows that kept it bright for much of the day. The view was over the rooftops, but I could smell the sea and drift off to the wind moving through the alleys. Bars, restaurants, and the beach are all close by from this centrally located hostal. After traveling all day from Seville to Tarifa, I was ready for anything, so finding this little gem was a lovely surprise. I’ll be back for another holiday and hope I can get a room again. This place is Heaven on Heart.
