BLUESEA Costa Teguise Gardens

The food was about what you’d expect at a 3-star all-inclusive. There was always something to eat, but nothing stood out, so we went into the centre a few nights for its cheap meals and drinks. Pool bar drinks were usually okay, though sometimes I got something I hadn’t ordered, possibly because of the language difference. We stayed four nights in January in a two-bedroom apartment on an all-inclusive basis. The rooms were spacious but dated, which felt fair for the price. They could use a freshen-up, and the cleaners should dust the ceilings and curtains, as we found a few cobwebs. I enjoyed the stay and would come again because it’s good value for money.

The food selection was limited, much of it nearly cold, and there wasn’t much replenishment. The hotel also isn’t very accessible for disabled guests: the room doors aren’t wide enough, and the lovely gym and other facilities are downstairs. Juan was a very friendly entertainer who did his best to involve everyone. Most of the reception staff were good, but one night receptionist wasn’t helpful when my son’s girlfriend became ill. He assumed she was drunk, but she wasn’t. She gets severe migraines and has food intolerances. In that situation, giving someone water is a basic first-aid step.

The food was okay, not the best I’ve had but far from the worst. I nearly gave four stars for it, then thought about the rest of the stay and changed my mind. The service and staff deserve five stars. The reception team helped us with what we needed, and the bar staff were amazing. Juan was a great entertainer. The mini mart staff even helped us book a day trip. When we got back to the apartment, it was immaculate, and our pajamas had been tucked under the pillows. Those small touches make me want to return to the island and stay here again. I didn’t see many children, which was a bonus, though that may depend on the season. We’ve had a lovely holiday, and I’ll see you next year. Thank you all.

Oscar deserves a special mention for going out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. We had a small room problem, and he moved us to another one that we were really happy with. All the staff were exceptional. The hotel is quiet, relaxing, very clean and not too big. There’s a handy little mini mart on site. The beach is about a ten-minute stroll away, with Pueblo Marinero a little farther on. We stayed on a bed-and-breakfast basis, so I can only comment on breakfast, which was good. It was a lovely stay and great value for money.
