We had a really good family holiday here over the busy mid-February half term, with my kids and parents along. It’s one of the best three-star hotels we’ve stayed in. Our first room was on the ground floor, which we didn’t like, but reception changed it without any fuss. The replacement, room 137 I think, had a great balcony with evening sun. There are plenty of pools, two heated, and lots of sunbeds. The kids loved the pool bar’s food, drinks and ice cream cones, available all day. The entertainment team were around throughout the day, inviting people to join activities without putting pressure on anyone. Meals were standard all-inclusive, with plenty of choice for adults and children, plus a small outdoor dining area. In the evening, the entertainment staff started things off, usually with something for the kids followed by quizzes and activities. Pauline, Marco, Pablo and Andrea deserve a special mention. Some days there were outside singers too. The beach is about a ten-minute walk away, and there are a couple of bars and an Aquarium right outside. A really good holiday for families.

We paid £500 per person for a week of all-inclusive, which seemed like a good deal, and we enjoyed the stay, though I’m not sure I’d return. Most guests seemed to be British, and many appeared to come back year after year. Our January 2026 week wasn’t warm enough for sunbathing, but we had a smashing room that caught the sun for most of the day. The food was very good for a three-star hotel, especially the Sunday roast on our last night, with three different roasts. Drinks at the hotel were poor. We went to the bar outside the all-inclusive package and met a lovely Irish couple who weren’t staying there. I was happy with canned Guinness and Jamesons, around 4 euros and 6 euros for a large measure respectively. It’s a short walk into CT. We went out one night to the Lighthouse for an ABBA tribute, and they were very good. Hennessy’s had good Guinness.

Still here at the moment. For a three-star hotel, it’s good. Breakfast is about average for all-inclusive, lunch is very good, and dinner is really good for this rating. Mario at reception is a really nice guy. He helped us keep our rooms until 3pm for our late flight home, for 40 euros, and I can’t complain about that. The all-inclusive was good for a three-star place, and it brought all 11 of our fantastic family together. It was great seeing the grandkids playing in the pool. Well done to all the staff.

For what we paid, we’ve had a great week. The apartments are quite spacious, with separate bedrooms and lounge areas, plus a small kitchenette. The food was pretty good, and the staff were among the friendliest and most efficient we’ve come across. The French lady on the entertainment team was especially good. The evening shows were pretty good too, but much too loud. My watch warned me every night that the sound level was unsafe, and this is coming from someone who goes to plenty of rock concerts. At this time of year it’s too cold to sit outside, so the only way to get away from it is to leave for one of the nearby bars or pay for the onsite quiet bar. We tried that one and it was nice and reasonably priced. I’d prefer the mini disco and evening entertainment to finish a bit earlier, and the volume to come down a little.

We really enjoyed our four-night break at El Trebol. The hotel was clean, had good facilities, and the staff were great. We arrived around 9pm after missing dinner, but the team had put together a thoughtful snack bag with two sandwiches, two bottles of water and an apple each. When we first got into our room, the door was so stiff it was hard to open or close. We told reception the next morning, and within five minutes the maintenance man was there. He said the wooden door had expanded in the heat, then shaved down its side so it worked easily. Great service from him and reception. The buffet was clean, and the food was always warm and fresh. There was a wide choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a different theme each evening to keep meals from getting repetitive. Drinks were the usual all-inclusive kind, with wine and beer on tap and cocktails from a machine, but I thought the cocktails were very nice. The evening entertainment was good, if basic: a kids’ disco, quizzes and shows from the animation team, which people seemed to enjoy. There’s a SPAR and a few shops and bars just outside. After about five minutes down the road, you can turn left for a small group of shops, bars and restaurants, or keep walking towards the seafront. In 10-15 minutes you reach the promenade, with bars and places to eat; the main square, with the main shops, bars and restaurants and a few side streets to explore, is about a 20-minute walk away. Our favourite was Kalima- chill out, a lovely outdoor lounge with live music, great cocktails, shisha and small plates. We’d definitely recommend the hotel.
