The room was spacious, and the kids’ club was large and nice. Staff were consistently pleasant, and the Royal Level buffet at asana had good food and service, with a good tea selection and decent machine coffee. The Royal Level areas were quieter, though the regular pools looked warmer, nicer, and better for children. The resort is huge, with plenty of sports and other things to do, but we didn’t have time to try them. We stayed one night with young kids on half board, and at €250 I wouldn’t come back. I’d probably rather pay €100 less for a well-run 3* hotel. Getting around took work: from our room it was a kilometer across the street and up three floors to the kids’ club, and we needed the map to avoid getting lost. Our ground-floor view was bushes and a powerplant. There was a noticeable sewage smell in the bathroom, annoying even if it wasn’t enough to make changing rooms worthwhile for one night. The room felt tired, the sofa bed was uncomfortable, and it hadn’t been made up. There was some dust, and our keys stopped working 15 minutes before checkout, so we had to ask a housekeeper to let us in. At the buffet, the chair cushions were dirty and the tables felt too close together.

The resort itself is beautiful, the food is good, and the staff are really friendly. But evenings have been hard for me because it’s noisy, and I’ve woken up several times in the night. Quiet and a good night’s sleep matter a lot to me on vacation. I’m mainly here to rest, and so far that’s been difficult.

The gym surprised me by being smaller than I expected, especially for such an active resort. It could use more equipment, and a sauna, steam room, cold dip, or hydro pool would be welcome additions. The location is the main downside too. Try not to get a power station view. It’d be nice to swim in the sea right in front of the hotel, but the access area doesn’t seem maintained, even though it could be made easier to use. Otherwise, I was really impressed on my first stay. The hotel felt relaxed, service was great, and the staff were friendly. Food had a high standard and plenty of choice. Towels were lovely and fluffy, the bed was very comfortable, and the pool area was clean and tidy without having to compete for a lounger. There was a good range of evening entertainment, and food and alcohol prices seemed reasonable. I’d come back.

We stayed on the Royal Level and would definitely come back. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the facilities and location were great. There were lots of branded spirits. Food could have had a bit more variety, but the quality was good and there were plenty of healthy choices.

The hotel is spotless, in a great location, and the rooms are lovely. The food, though, was rotten. Both the Royal Level and standard buffets were cold, and food was left out longer than it should have been. There was very little choice in the Royal restaurant. I ordered an omelette at breakfast and am 99% sure it gave me food poisoning. I was very sick and couldn’t eat for 3 days, which ruined the rest of the holiday. I told the desk staff so it wouldn’t happen to anyone else, but they said there was a nurovirus going around. That made no sense to me, since my wife was fine. The food was awful and there was no consideration for customers.
