Teguisol

The peaceful surroundings made for a really relaxing stay at Teguisol Apartment. Our place was clean, comfortable, and well equipped, and the staff were friendly and helpful the whole time. The pool was a nice extra. It was a bit cold, but still refreshing and enjoyable. We had a wonderful visit, would recommend it, and would love to come back!

There are cute cats around the complex, which was a plus, and the apartment was a good size with room to cook for yourself. The pool was cold when we visited in January. Our studio’s floors felt very dirty, though. After less than an hour walking around, the bottoms of our socks had turned dark grey. A few kitchen utensils weren’t properly clean either, but washing-up liquid was provided, so that was easy to sort. The bed was fairly hard but not awful. The pillows were lumpy and bad. It’s a nice complex, but you’re not getting luxury here, and cleanliness wasn’t ideal.

We could see the sea from our balcony in the 300s, and the complex is only about 10-15 minutes from the airport. It’s also close to the coast and surrounded by supermarkets, pharmacies, restaurants and tourist shops. Arricife, the capital, is around 15 minutes away by car, while volcano Diablo takes about 30 minutes. We stayed in a privately owned apartment, so the room was spotless but sheets and towels weren’t changed daily. You’re responsible for washing and drying them, depending on the length of your stay. The complex seems to consist of privately owned apartments. Both pools and the bar-restaurant were open, and there’s parking on site. The grounds are locked and need a pin to enter or leave, including the gates inside the complex. There’s a little outdoor play gym for young children, and I saw a yoga class in an empty room near the big pool. It’s a good complex, though it used to be a resort.

It’s a very quiet area, close to town. We hired a car at the airport and were told parking would be plentiful, but it turned out to be more a matter of finding a space when you could. Some apartments are apparently homes for local residents rather than holiday lets. Our apartment was comfortable and had good equipment. The bathroom needs updating, and the pillows on the bed were useless. The complex looked quite run down, with areas in disrepair, although some renovation work seemed to be getting started.
