The view was exceptional, and on clear days we could even see Tenerife. But the drive up was rough, especially the final 500m, which were extremely steep and scary. You need to be experienced at mountain driving. We expected some mice in a rural house, but every morning there was mouse droppings all over the place.

The arrival was already a struggle. The owner didn’t explain clearly how to get in and didn’t answer, so we spent quite a while trying to figure it out, like we were playing an escape room. Parking was also unsafe: there’s no space for a car, just a patch of dirt by the road that looks partly collapsed. There’s barely room for half a car, leaving yours almost blocking the road. Inside, the house seemed neglected and dirty, with cobwebs everywhere. There was an electrical splice attached to an outlet right beside the sofa, a serious fire risk. A chair broke when someone sat on it, and instead of taking responsibility, the owners tried to charge us for that chair and others that were already broken before we arrived. Water leaked in the bathroom onto an electrical outlet, and sparks were flying, so we had to remove it ourselves. In one bedroom, a sheet had been put over the double bed, supposedly to keep insects away, but it seemed to hide multiple ceiling leaks and stop water from dripping onto your face while you slept. The sofa bed was advertised for two but was only single-bed size and extremely hard, so it was completely uncomfortable. The wooden bedroom floors creaked alarmingly and dipped underfoot, making us feel constantly as if they might give way. We also found a chest of party supplies and even a bong, which made it seem the house wasn’t checked or cleaned between stays. That’s especially concerning in a place where families with children might stay, as kids could easily get to those things. The whole experience was disappointing and, in some ways, dangerous. Honestly, the photographer was the only good thing about it. They managed to make even Dracula’s castle look cozy and habitable in the pictures. The actual house was far from what was advertised. We don’t recommend staying here under any circumstances.

This rural house feels like something from the Middle Ages, with damp, leaks, and damage throughout. It’s listed for six, but the sofa bed is supposedly for two or more. Really, it’s only suitable for two children, since two adults can barely move and sleep uncomfortably. Parking takes a degree, given what the owner has come up with. It’s perfect for scratching your car or having a rock fall on it. The owner is shameless. Not recommended, find somewhere else.
