The staff made us feel at home from the start. Victoria, Leticia, and Pedro were always smiling, attentive, and ready to help. Their care made the stay far more special than I’d expected. It’s an idyllic spot, just right for getting away from city life and enjoying the scenery. We had an unforgettable few days and are already sure we’ll come back. For us, the experience was a 10 out of 10.

The views and surroundings deserve a 10, and the one hotel person we saw during our three-day stay, at breakfast, was lovely. The grounds and rooms are well kept, and the location is spectacular. But the stay itself fell well short of the five-star service we expected. There’s no reception or staff available, and the breakfast is very basic for a hotel of this category. The lack of soundproofing is another serious problem. On our second night, a family in the next room and hallway were loud, with suitcases, heels, children running around, and conversations we could hear clearly. We politely asked them several times to quiet down, but they ignored us. We didn’t want an argument, so we called the customer service number and got no answer. With nobody on site to turn to, we had to wait it out and then go home to get some rest. A night’s sleep wasted. If you’re after peace and quiet, this place may not suit you when it’s busy. You can hear absolutely everything.

The atmosphere at Abba Las Viñas Tiedra was so peaceful, and the setting is ideal for switching off and enjoying the surroundings. We had a small room issue that was our own mistake, and the staff sorted it out without any fuss. Everyone was kind, attentive, and willing to help from the minute we arrived. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back. I’d happily recommend it.

We left very disappointed. This stay just didn’t match the hotel’s supposed five-star category, despite arriving at Abba Las Viñas in Tiedra excited to celebrate our anniversary. The room itself was adequate, and the mattress was comfortable, but ours was on the ground floor and got little afternoon light. I mentioned it at reception when we arrived, but they couldn’t move us. I would have paid more for a brighter room. At night, a loud bang startled us when the shampoo and shower gel bottles came loose. They were attached with double-sided tape, which seems like something that should be checked in a newly opened hotel. The worst issue was the heating. We had an unbearably hot night and couldn’t sleep. On September 27th, I don’t see why the heating was on, and the cold air didn’t work. Switching to cold still blew hot air, and turning the heating off didn’t stop the hot air either. We told reception in the morning and were told they’d turned it on in every room because some guests were cold. That’s understandable, but we couldn’t turn it off in our room, and other guests had complained too. We were left to sleep badly so other guests could be comfortable. There were several power cuts within an hour, and we had no running water for hours, so neither the sink nor shower worked. At 6:00 PM there was no reception or staff nearby. I called the number posted at reception, but the phone crashed and we couldn’t reach anyone. The water eventually came back that night while we were out. It’s unsettling to think a problem depends on the owner turning up. There’s no 24-hour reception, which I’d expect at a five-star hotel. Staffing seemed thin throughout. We were asked to pay through a link and check in early, at 1:00 PM, because the reception desk closes early. I understand the process, but it limits guests’ independence. There are also obvious maintenance issues around the large complex. It has, or once had, an equestrian estate and bullring, and those areas are now dilapidated. That isn’t a major concern for me, but it’s part of what we saw. There’s signage for a spa too, though no spa exists. I’m not counting that as a complaint, since it isn’t listed on the website and we only noticed it while walking around. Cleanliness was lacking in some areas, including the bathrooms and dining room, where we saw spiders. Breakfast was the worst part. The hotel manager had to act as receptionist and make coffee, in a very small space with little on offer: half a counter, four croissants, and processed pastries. The juicer wasn’t working and took a long time to fix because the manager was the only staff member there and was busy with many things. Reception also felt inattentive. Guests shouldn’t have to bear the effects of understaffing. There wasn’t even tomato for toast, just butter, four bowls of jam, a little bread, and cold cuts that ran out quickly. It was nowhere near a five-star breakfast. I thought it was a joke.

Such a quiet, restorative place. The rooms mix modern touches with the carved stone you see so often in Castile. The staff were wonderful. The receptionist was attentive, polite, and explained the creation of Earth in a really informative way. At breakfast, the person serving us was warm, natural, and helpful. I’d gladly come back.
