Hotel Palacio De Meras

The hotel is beautifully designed and clean, but the service was disappointing. For a place with only about 40 rooms, check-in felt frustratingly slow, with 5-6 people often queued for one person at the front desk. The rooms also didn’t have all the basics, like shampoo and shower gel. It took several tries to reach reception by phone, and nearly two hours for the items to arrive. I hope management sorts out these operational problems.

A little gem in Timeo. The rooms, service, food and Wifi were all fine. Exceptionally good hotel, highly recommended.

After the first days on the Camino, this was a wonderful treat for a day off. Room 210 was the best, and I’d definitely book it again. It had one of the best views I’ve ever had from a hotel, with glass on two sides of the corner room looking out over the mountains. Lovely to sit and take in the view, or just see it from bed. Fabulous pillows, too. The big bathroom had a bath, perfect for soaking tired muscles. They were very helpful and gave us plates and cutlery for our takeaway meals. I came down with a cold and felt pretty rough, so it was good to rest and sleep in such a comfortable, cosy room. I wouldn’t want any other room!

On the third night of our walk, we stayed here, and it was easily the best place between Oviedo and Lugo. What a bargain. The front desk also helped us in Spanish with some other reservations, which was a nice bonus. Dinner at the restaurant wasn’t cheap, but it was one of the best meals we had on the primitivo and well worth the price. If you’re deciding where to splurge, this is the place.
