Apartamento Cristo de la Luz

Parking is the one thing that really saves this place. It's close to the apartment, right by the city wall, and you can get there without driving into the center. Getting the key and finding your way in, though, felt like an obstacle course. And forget the terrace, it's unusable. The apartment is small and could use better care. The location is both its biggest plus and a problem. You're in Toledo's old town, just minutes from a Carrefour Express, bars, and places to visit, but narrow streets make getting around by car difficult. Construction is nearby, and on Thursdays and Fridays the workers start at 8:00 AM, with pickaxes, sledgehammers, music, banging, and shouting. Saturdays are noisy too, with early morning street sounds from a nearby nightclub and bars that close at 9:00 PM. The kitchen was the reason we picked the apartment, but it was unusable because the ceramic hob didn't work. The kitchen itself was dirty and the utensils greasy. We had to throw away food and pay extra for takeout that day. I contacted the manager, but didn't get a prompt or helpful reply. There was no apology or repair. The bathroom was awkward, especially the shower. Its door wouldn't close, and water leaked out through an opening. The bed was uncomfortable and raised, so you bump into things. The wardrobe is just hangers on a pole and hard to access. The bed linens were worn and didn't look clean. Cleanliness in general wasn't great. The apartment is only really suitable for a couple.
