We fell for the photos, but this stay turned into our worst experience ever. The toilet in our room was broken, and we only found out when we arrived: the owner had emailed less than an hour earlier while we were still on the train. Her assistant handed us two buckets and told us to fill them from the bathtub so we could flush. We couldn't believe it. With Toledo packed with tourists and no other hotel rooms available, we had no choice but to stay. The smell got into the bedroom, so we kept the bathroom door shut, and both our backs were very sore from dealing with the buckets. The owner offered a small part of the charge back but didn't want to refund it to our credit card. When we later tried to get the credit, we couldn't reach her. We tried every way we could, including through her assistant, but got no reply. We checked out today and still hadn't heard from her. Please think twice before staying here. You've been warned.

The views make the stay feel once in a lifetime: Toledo Cathedral is right outside the window, and the building’s construction began in the 9th century, during Islamic rule. Its restoration was recognized in 2009 with the “Gonzalo Ruiz de Toledo” award from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts and Historical Sciences of Toledo. The rooms are on the small, intimate side, but they have modern comforts while keeping the authentic medieval character. Breakfast is great, and parking is available for a fee. The location is hard to beat, beside one of Europe’s most incredible Gothic cathedrals.

The stay was pleasant, and the place is right across from the cathedral. There are Muslim touches throughout, and I especially liked some of the decor. Breakfast was simple, just enough to get the day started, and the woman serving it was very friendly.

We could see the cathedral from our window, and the location was amazing. We stayed two nights in a cozy European B&B that felt like being in a Spanish home for a few days while still having our own suite. The room was small but lovely, with 14th-century details. Tea, coffee, and a kettle were provided, and breakfast was plentiful and delicious. A real plus for us was having brewed coffee instead of espresso. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The staff were lovely, and the owner was so sweet and friendly. It’s a beautiful, sparkling-clean place that works well for families, with breakfast included. The location is great, and there’s air conditioning, a library, and lovely decor. Incredible place to stay ❤️
