El Moli de Siurana, The Originals Relais (Relais du Silence)

Breakfast was a treat, with omelettes, fresh bread, cheese, sausages, and fruit. This charming masia sits in a pastoral spot just outside Figuerres, and we enjoyed visiting the geese and chickens there. Our room was roomy, comfortable, and full of character. We'd love to stay again, and highly recommend it.

The pool area is very good, and there's plenty of shaded parking. The owner and staff struck a nice balance between being professional and friendly. We really enjoyed the home-cooked evening meals and our stay overall. It's also well placed for heading to Figueres in one direction or the coast in the other.

Food is the big draw for us here. The Catalan breakfasts, included in the price, are superb, and dinner is made with fresh local ingredients, many of them homegrown. The staff have also been flexible about meal times to fit our schedule. We've stayed a few times, and while the room is beautiful and has all the basics, my wife and I didn't care for the mattress. That's just personal preference. When we tried the internet, it was too slow for 720p video, though that may not be typical; we didn't mention it since we didn't really need it. It's generally a quiet place, which can be tough for children, but the friendly staff and plenty of outdoor space helped our kids enjoy themselves. They made friends with a playful kitten, and there are chickens and geese roaming around, plus a swimming pool. There's lots to do nearby, including museums, lovely towns, hikes, beaches, and other experiences. We'll definitely be back.

We found it a lovely, peaceful farm to stay at while exploring this part of Catalonia, with the Dali museum and house conveniently nearby. The owners and staff were wonderful, and the food was sublime, especially the fresh farm eggs and homemade jams. Our accommodations were sparkling clean, comfortable, and full of character. I can't recommend it enough.
