Casa Rural La Escondida

María, the owner, and Lucía, who lives across the street, were both delightful. We felt at home as soon as we arrived for our multi-day family gathering, and the house exceeded what we expected. There are five bedrooms, each with a comfortable bed, a fan, and its own bathroom, so we didn't need air conditioning at night. The kitchen was well equipped, and the living room was huge. You can cool off at a natural pool with a beach bar just two minutes away. Jerte and other towns with their own natural pools are only a few kilometers away. A few meters from the house there's a bakery that sells wood-fired bread and also works as a grocery shop, with a butcher farther down the street. A hidden gem to consider if you're visiting Jerte.

The house needs maintenance urgently, though it's spacious and beautiful. I especially appreciated having a bathroom in every bedroom. The owner was friendly, fixed a coffee maker problem right away, and gave us a great introduction to the area.

The area is beautiful, and the locals were always friendly, but we won't be back. The house itself is nice, though parts of it are in pretty bad shape and it needs a lot of maintenance. The owner treated us as if we were irresponsible, was rather rude, and said some unpleasant things. I wouldn't recommend staying here. We'll look for somewhere else next time we visit the Jerte Valley.

The owner was kind and friendly, and the house had everything we needed for a weekend with a group. It was very well equipped and set in a perfect spot to unwind.
