Hostal Julian

All four of us agreed that the grilled beef we ordered for our main course was incredibly tough. We had tried the Castilian soup first, and that was very good. It seems they didn't "scare" the beef the way we do with octopus.

It's a modest hostel, and the rooms are clean enough, but the furniture is really old, especially in the bathroom. There's a TV, but no air conditioning. Breakfast is limited but sufficient, with Serrano ham, York ham, and cheese. They have baguettes for guests to cut themselves, without even a cloth to avoid touching the bread, plus sliced bread that you can toast in a good toaster. For toppings there are jams, butter, and honey, but no tomato. There's also fruit and pastries. You order coffee and freshly squeezed juice at the bar.

We had lunch and dinner here, and everything was delicious. Our rooms were spotless and at a perfect temperature, and it's only five minutes from the center of Toro. I'm from a group of Asturians who spent Easter week here. I chose this place because of the reviews, but they didn't come close to how well we were treated. The owner was incredibly attentive, and the waiters were always looking after us. It felt just like home. I'd recommend visiting, even just for a meal. I'll definitely return on my next visit. We went for lunch and the food was delicious, with generous portions. The service from the staff was excellent, and the owner, Julián, was wonderful and attentive throughout. The restaurant is very close to the center and in a great spot. They also have rooms. Great value for money.
