The place was spotless, and the ladies looking after guests were very kind. Reception is only open for a few hours. The patio could use a little more attention, with plastic tables and less detailed decor than the rest of the hotel. Even with those small points, it’s a very recommendable place to stay in Toro.

Mercedes made the stay especially easy. She replied quickly to my emails, met us on arrival, and served breakfast, which was fine and included gluten-free choices. She even upgraded my clients’ room, which looked fantastic. She speaks Spanish, so English speakers may find communication trickier. The house dates back to the 15th century and has plenty of character and history. Our bedroom was fine, with high ceilings and a comfortable bed, though the heating could be better and the plugs weren’t ideally arranged. The newer bathroom was warmer. It was quiet at night apart from the church bells ringing every hour, so bring earplugs if you want uninterrupted sleep. The location is ideal, with level walks to all the sights, and street parking nearby was fairly easy. Good value for money.

We keep coming back for Fiesta weekends in Toro. The staff take such good care of us, and breakfast in the medieval courtyard on a nice day is something we love. The hotel is full of history but still has the modern comforts you need. If you want to experience Spain and its very friendly hospitality, put this place on your list.
