Apartamentos Proamar

The apartment itself was clean and okay, but an apartment block is being built next door, with heavy noise going on from 08.00hrs during the day. There was no staff to find and no phone contact, and check-in was automated. When I used the link in their email to check in before arriving, my phone got hacked. I had to remove my SIM card to stop it being hacked. Welcome to the beach.

A clean, comfortable and very nice apartment. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby, and plenty of free parking around.

We got there after midnight and couldn't find the person who had the apartment key. The nearby hotel helped us contact her so we could collect it. The apartment was beautiful, with views of the sea and mountains, though a little smaller than our previous one.

The biggest frustration was the internet. It kept dropping, so I had to log in over and over. That was especially infuriating when I tried to watch a Formula 1 race and missed key moments every time the connection failed. When I complained, it was brushed off as though there couldn't be a problem, and the staff seemed completely indifferent. The noise between apartments is awful. You can hear conversations and even neighbors snoring, as if the walls were cardboard, so there's no privacy. The beds and blankets were old, worn and dirty, and a good night's sleep was impossible. There were problems everywhere I looked: the extractor fan didn't work, making cooking unpleasant and impractical, and there were patched holes and screw holes left all over the walls. The doors stuck. Around them, the skirting boards were eaten away by rot and mold, which looked like ongoing neglect. The shower curtain was filthy, the shower drain was broken, and the damaged toilet seat made it particularly uncomfortable to use. There's a small park in front of the complex where people walk their dogs, but dog poop is often left on the sidewalk and hard to avoid stepping in. That adds to how dirty the area feels. My stay at the ProAmar apartment complex in Torre del Mar was a major disappointment. The building has a faded, neglected feel, and with poor maintenance, unhygienic conditions and unreliable basic facilities, it wasn't suitable for a comfortable stay. If you're thinking of staying there to relax or watch sports, think twice. Frustration was constant. Absolutely not recommended.
