El Oasis de "El Capitán"

The house has a lot going for it: it's spacious, quiet, and has a living room, two bedrooms with enormous beds, a bathroom, a small but usable toilet, and a terrace with a chill-out area and barbecue. There's Wi-Fi and an open garage too. Only one bedroom has air conditioning, though, and the other gets warm. It's in a good spot in my opinion, close to a Mercadona and a gas station, so you can avoid the summer traffic. It's a drive to the beach, but not far by car. Still, the place is very old and badly needs maintenance and some DIY work. There wasn't a bedside table in either bedroom, so we had to put things on the floor. The kitchen has a dishwasher but no microwave, and was missing all sorts of things, including scissors. One large knife had a burnt handle, and all the glasses were mismatched. The bathroom ceiling light is blue. Blue! It made the room look like Avatar or like a Smurf was using the toilet, and clothes and nails glowed like they were in a disco. There's a regular light by the window, but only one bulb worked. The window was sagging, and its frame looked chewed up by termites or something. The TV is large and smart, with Wi-Fi, but barely gets any of the main channels: not La 1, Antena 3, Telecinco or La Sexta. The terrace has lots of cool lights, but they don't give enough light for dinner, so at our family meal we were guessing what we were eating. For a romantic dinner they might be fine. Watch out for the sheer drop at the front. There's no wall, and it must be about seven meters down. The garage is open-air and very small. There was room to turn around, and the street is a dead end, but it took me five maneuvers. A couple of weeks of DIY and a little money could make this a spectacular house. I still don't understand the blue light. I have a theory, but I'd rather believe it's not that. 🤣🤣

We've stayed in all kinds of houses and places, some better and some worse, but this one was something else. The place was dirty, in poor condition and not welcoming at all. The air conditioning didn't work, we couldn't get the TV, and there was no hot water. The decor was in poor taste, and the photos shouldn't fool anyone. It's a real shame, and I could go on. It was ridiculously expensive for what you get. I wouldn't go back even if someone paid me.

It was quiet and not bad, but it really needs cleaning and maintenance.

The house is pleasant, with big beds and a terrace overlooking the mountains.
