Villa al Alba

We stayed there twice, and both times everything was perfect: a peaceful place, beautiful room and unbeatable service. Breakfast had everything, and I especially loved the homemade olive oil cake the owner makes. That was three or four years ago, but if I go back to Torre del Mar, I wouldn’t hesitate to book a room again. The only downside is the distance from the beach. Nothing’s perfect. Cheers!

We could get to the beach in five minutes when we wanted its lively atmosphere, then come back and relax in peace and quiet. The villa has a magnificent view, a lovely, well-kept garden and tasteful decor. It was spotlessly clean, and breakfast was standard but had something for everyone. Our hosts kept to themselves but were available whenever we needed them. The price is well below what the quality deserves. I highly recommend it.

I’ve stayed in hotels for work and holidays and never had this kind of treatment over a simple delay. I called reception in the morning to ask about checkout, and the receptionist first said before 2:00 PM, then called back five minutes later to say before noon. He was speaking Spanish, and as a native French speaker I confused 2:00 PM with noon because they sound very similar. I checked out at 1:05 PM. An older woman came to my door with the man and told me in a condescending tone that she had only one hour to clean the room and I had to leave. I apologized, but she wouldn’t accept it and left in a huff. She didn’t even say goodbye as I left, though the man did help carry my things to the car. I also wasn’t happy about being charged an extra 10 euros for my two-month-old puppy, who’s about the size of a rabbit. I hadn’t been told about that extra charge. The woman’s behavior showed a serious lack of professionalism.

VILLA AL ALBA far exceeded what I expected. It’s a magnificent house, spotlessly clean, with huge rooms, large terraces, a charming pool and a lovely garden. The owners are fantastic, and the minibar is incredibly cheap. Such a good experience.
