The quiet countryside setting, close to Monfragüe National Park, makes Albergue de la Dehesa a good place to spend a few days with family, friends, or colleagues. There's a nice patio to relax in, plus lounges, a dining room, workspaces, and rooms for groups. Everything was clean and well cared for. The service is outstanding, and the foundation that runs it also works on nature conservation and organizes environmental education activities for groups, including hikes in the park. Highly recommended.

Puerto, who runs the place, is a real sweetheart, and the rest of the staff are lovely too. The hostel is well located, clean, and the food is good. My only small complaint is that the relaxation room feels too small for groups.

The place itself is lovely and very clean, and we had a wonderful weekend there with friends. We explored Monfragüe, the castle, the Fuente del Frances, and the chozos of Villareal de San Carlos. The scenery is incredible for photography, especially the vultures at the Gitano Jump flying right overhead. Well worth it.

Monfragüe is a must-see, beyond words. As someone who uses a wheelchair, I found this accommodation exceptionally well adapted: the bedroom and dining room are accessible, and there's a small, beautiful garden at the hostel that I could also get around. The bathroom is properly adapted, with a shower. The one difficulty is the cobblestone surface, which is typical of the area and a bit hard to navigate. For "letters," you'll need someone with you.
