El Petit Mirador Hotel

My first experience in Spain has been ruined, and I haven’t even arrived. I’m very disappointed with this host, who turned out to be a complete jerk. I booked through Airbnb after seeing the pictures and was charged straight away. Almost immediately, the host messaged me saying I had to use the main website instead. I copied the hotel name and the Google link into Airbnb and asked for help, but he just told me to work it out myself. When I found the official site, I was shocked to learn I had to make a new reservation and pay again. I was confused, so I messaged him with questions about the booking and the differences in the pictures. He said, “If you have questions, call me,” but didn’t give me a phone number. The service was awful and unfriendly, and it was almost impossible to have a conversation. While I was trying to clear things up in the chat, my reservation was canceled within five minutes, and the host stopped replying altogether. That’s the “wonderful” service I got. I strongly advise anyone considering this host to check carefully, verify the rooms, and make sure the exact rooms they want are available. What’s offered doesn’t match reality. I’m sure I won’t be coming.

The Tropical suite was perfect for a completely relaxing, movie-like stay. There are several distinctive room options, and the hotel itself is beautiful, like a film set or model shoot location. It’s a quiet, tranquil spot outside Barcelona’s busy downtown. The customer service from everyone was amazing, especially Joseph. If you’re visiting Barcelona, I’d say this is a must-stay. I can’t recommend it enough.

The view was lovely, but it couldn’t make up for the other problems. At this price, I’d expect a more luxurious stay, and there are other hotels that offer one. Petit Mirador Hotel left me underwhelmed and disappointed. The jacuzzi was a nice feature, but the shower didn’t have hot water, which was a major inconvenience. There was barely any basic stuff either, just two small bottles of shower gel and no hand soap. The single small bottle of bath salts for the jacuzzi also seemed inadequate. Breakfast was mostly processed, industrial items with very little choice. For what the hotel costs, I expected a better-quality and more varied spread. The disposable cups in the room were plastic-coated cardboard, which felt like an odd and unhygienic choice for a place aiming for luxury. The next morning, we found a colony of ants had moved into them. The location is charming, but the lack of basic amenities and disappointing breakfast don’t justify the price. I’d look for other accommodation nearby.

I felt really unwelcome, and the customer service was tragic. Things went missing from our belongings under mysterious circumstances, making it impossible to relax and turning the stay incredibly unpleasant. The pool’s shared areas also seemed not to be cleaned daily after heavy use, which was gross. I don’t recommend this place, especially after paying so much. Do yourself a favour and avoid it. There are much better places around for the same price.
