Apartamentos Casa Blanca

We've stayed here three times now, and each visit feels like coming home. In Torremolinos, Apartamentos Casablanca is where we want to be. The building sits in a quiet part of La Carihuela, and the location is spot on: one door opens onto the beach, the other onto the shopping street. The apartments have what you need for a holiday, and there's even a washing machine in the building. It's always clean and well cared for. Roza and Sia, the owners, and Carina are consistently kind and helpful. After checkout, you can still spend time at the beach, then come back to shower and change in the building. This feels like our second home, and we'll certainly return.

The managers are very professional, and the apartments are always tidy and clean. We've been here a few times, and the views are fantastic. The bathroom in our latest apartment had recently been upgraded, a big improvement and very nicely done. Hope to come back soon.

You are right on the beach, with panoramic views over Cariehulla beach and everything nearby. The place has traditional comfort, the owner is very friendly and responsible, and the price is mostly good value.

Apartment A is right by the beach, restaurants and tourist strip, so the summer location works well. The flat itself has two bedrooms, a kitchen, an open living and dining area, and a narrow terrace. It's an ageing place, though. Some doorways are low, the hallways are tight, and the stairs are steep and narrow. With uneven surfaces and steps, I think the complex is a safety concern for young children. Mind the step in the living area too. The furniture looked largely second hand, and could be more modern and comfortable. The toaster, fridge and microwave are worn out and need upgrading. The toaster is an old open-grill type with a knob, which doesn't feel safe around kids. The LCD TV is good and has lots of channels, though I wish there had been a DVD player. The bathroom needs some work. Its shower base takes up a lot of space, the doors don't close properly, and getting into it means stepping up. A more accessible shower without a step and a smaller vanity sink would free up room. Blinds for privacy would help, since people in other units can see in if the windows are open. There's no exhaust fan, so the bathroom gets very humid. The apartment also needs air conditioning. At night the bedroom got so hot I slept without a sheet or blanket. Leaving the front doors open is annoying because of the noise from below, and there are no fly screens on the windows to keep insects out.
