From the service side, this place was hard to fault. Reception answered questions and helped, the cleaners looked after our room every day, and the pool bar was well stocked with great staff. The pool was very warm, which helped because the sea was a bit colder. When we had breakfast, the options were tasty and made with fresh ingredients. We wanted a beachfront location, and this one was right on the beach. For staff, service, and location, it would be five stars. The room, though, was outdated, and the walls were so thin that we could hear people talking, snoring, and walking. It was often impossible to sleep before 2-3 AM. With no balcony, there was nowhere to dry clothes except a small bathroom rack and the window. Most distressing, the ground-level room's floor tiles were uneven by the entrance. That alone was barely noticeable, but it left a gap under the closed door. Cockroaches came in through it at night a few times. I heard some neighbors had the same issue, and once I saw one crawl in when I got back at night. It was stressful. After that, we put a towel by the door each night, which stopped them. We told reception; they sympathized and arranged a thorough cleaning of the premises. No other review had mentioned this, so it may have been a one-off situation. The problems mostly came from the room's structural issues and the restaurants around the hotel, which may have been where the cockroaches came from. The room and surroundings were kept very clean, so it wasn't a hygiene issue. Still, the hotel should have dealt with the problems if it were a serious hotel. That's why I give it 3/5, for the staff. Otherwise, it would have been 1/5.
