Hotel Carlos I

You get good value here, with a decent-sized room, balcony, fridge and wardrobe. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and comfortable, and you’re close to the centre of Torremolinos.

For a solo traveller looking for a private double room, the Carlos rooms are good value. Mine had the basics you’d expect: a comfortable double bed, TV, fridge, towels, shampoo and shower gel. There’s no air conditioning, so I imagine it’d be uncomfortable in summer. It suits a short stay. The apartment block has no other facilities like a bar, restaurant or pool. Maya, who I think is the receptionist or owner, was very friendly and hospitable. If you’re fine with walking, it’s about ten minutes north of the town centre and another ten minutes to the beachfront.

A friendly, pleasant family-run hotel where I had a great time. The rooms are a good size and well equipped, including a microwave. Mine had its own bathroom, though I believe shared ones are available too. It’s handy for the train, town centre and clubs, and great value.

The reception staff were especially helpful and nice to talk to. The place is very close to public transport, the city centre, bars and restaurants. It’s a hostel, so don’t expect luxury, but the rooms have what you need whether you’re staying a few days or a few weeks. I highly recommend it if you don’t need a four-star hotel, pool or breakfast.
