Hostal Guillot

The bedroom furniture is a little shabby and lets the place down, but I slept well and had a very good stay. This little hostal was spotless, quiet, and had good staff. The separate bathrooms were always clean, with shower gel and consistently hot water. There’s a sink in each room.

We weren’t given any towels, and staff also came into our room without permission. The shower had disgusting liquids in it every day, alongside mold and rust. The most disgusting hotel I’ve ever stayed in, honestly a nightmare.

The reception staff were friendly, and the rooms were a good size. It was clean and right in the center. I’d recommend it.

The place itself is clean and central, but the managers don’t seem to care about guests disturbing one another. Around midnight, a woman in the next room was talking so loudly that she sounded like a flamenco singer. I went downstairs to tell the man there, and he spoke to her. She quieted down for a while, then started again. At about 2 a.m., another woman began loudly talking to someone in Arabic, and carried on until probably 5 a.m. When I spoke to the receptionist in the morning, he didn’t seem to care. He got defensive instead of apologizing, saying people are like that and there was nothing they could do. It’s sad, honestly. There were no people skills or commitment to the guests. Unless you plan to come back and sleep completely hammered, don’t book here. Hotels need rules to stop guests disturbing others after midnight, and managers need to enforce them. Spain has a lot to learn about hospitality. This would never happen in Australia.
