Hotel Fénix Torremolinos - Adults Only Recommended

The food at both breakfast and dinner had lots of variety, and there was something for everyone. We enjoyed relaxing in the sunshine by the pool and on the terrace. The hotel was busy even in November, which shows how popular it is. Our room was spacious and spotless, and the staff were excellent. The beach, town centre and public transport are all just a few minutes away. You can get to Malaga in less than half an hour. We’ll definitely be back.

Breakfast was well worth including, with loads to choose from and delicious fresh fruit. The poolside area was lovely, though some quiet background music would have helped, since the silence felt a little awkward when walking over to the loungers. Staff were nice enough, especially the breakfast team, who always greeted us with a smile. We’d just spent a few days here and liked the hotel and its location. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable, even though they were two singles pushed together. The air conditioning was on the loud side, but the hotel itself was quiet. We couldn’t hear people in the rooms next door or above.

We’ve just spent a week at the Fenix Hotel and will certainly return next year. It’s a little gem, in a fantastic spot between the beach and town centre. The staff were lovely, the meals were varied and plentiful, and breakfast was fantastic. Our room was bright and airy, with a very comfortable bed.

The location and staff are great, but the rest was very bad. I specifically asked the hotel by email a month before arrival for one large mattress and was told they’d provide it. When I got there, staff said it wasn’t possible: all the rooms with king-size beds have two single beds pushed together, and only a mattress topper helps stop you falling into the gap. The mattress base itself was very unstable. For this price range, that’s unacceptable. The internet was slow, the air conditioning very loud, and the rooms had high humidity when it was set high. There’s no soundproofing, and the TV is small and old. The hotel may be in 1980s-90s style, but at this price it definitely doesn’t offer what it should.
