We were seven women travelling on 24/6/25 for seven nights, and it was a welcome return to this lovely, quaint hotel. It's right on the beach, handy for shops and bars, and just 20 minutes from the airport. The hotel has more going for it than against it, so hopefully we'll be back next year. Some parts look a little tired, but room renovations were underway, which is good. The staff were all pleasant and welcoming, and every area was very clean. There's a breakfast room overlooking the sea and a bar by reception, but neither seemed to be used outside breakfast, and both could be put to better use. Beatrice, the waitress in Tropicana, was lovely and set up breakfast every day so we could eat together. We had our evening meal next door at the sister hotel, MS Amaragua. They didn't seem very well set up for a party of seven, and most nights we were squeezed around a table for six. It felt like guests from Tropicana weren't as welcome; larger groups staying at MS Amaragua seemed to get larger tables, though that may just have been our experience. Another irritation was people reserving sunbeds by the Tropicana pool from 7-7.30 am with towels, then not using them until much later.
