Sol Torremolinos - Don Marco Adults Recommended

The staff were all really friendly and helpful, and our modern room overlooked the gardens, entrance, and pool. Food was decent. We only had breakfast, and it was what you’d expect from a hotel buffet. We had a lovely five-night stay at Don Marco and it didn’t disappoint. Part of the Sol Torremolinos complex with Don Pablo and Don Pedro, Don Marco sits right on the beach and is about 15 minutes from the airport. We could use the facilities at all three hotels, which was an unexpected bonus. There were lots of pools and sun loungers, and we always found a free one, even when it was busy. The complex has three kinds of entertainment each night, so there’s something for everyone, plus a kids’ disco at Don Pablo. It’s a family complex, though Don Marco is recommended for adults, with adult-only pools and a relaxed restaurant and bar for breakfast. I liked how they handled reserving sunbeds. Staff left a note on beds where towels had been left, saying they’d remove them after an hour because reserving loungers wasn’t allowed. That meant no sunbed wars or mad dash at 7am. We could take a chilled walk to one of the many pools, pick a free bed, and relax. Perfect! We’d definitely return.

The room stayed cold even with the air conditioning set to its highest level. Turning it off made the air stuffy and left an unpleasant bathroom smell. The food was disappointing too: breakfast was identical each day, meals often seemed neither fresh nor varied, and there was very little choice for a four-star all-inclusive hotel. The drinks were poor, and the juice tasted like concentrate.

We enjoyed ourselves so much that we hardly left the resort, which was a first for us. The top-floor rooms have great balconies, and the hotel is more or less right by the beach. Breakfast had a good range, though the sausages and a few other things weren't to my taste 🤣. It's a lovely spot for a relaxing break in the sun, and we'll definitely come back.

I booked without knowing much about the resort and hadn't really researched it, but I was hugely impressed. Being able to use the facilities at all three hotels is a big plus. The location, rooms, staff, and facilities were all excellent. We had a lovely stay and will 100 percent return.
