Camping Floarantilles

The site was peaceful, and we had a lovely view over the lake. The busy road is close, as other reviews say, but we only heard it as a background hum and it never bothered us. The plots are fairly compact, with lots of long-term residents, and the facilities were clean and practical. People staying there were friendly and pointed us to the toilet blocks with indoor hot showers. The washing machines were good value too. We arrived on 1st Oct, out of season, and paid €20 a night. A day earlier it would have been €30. The pool looked great, but was closed, which was a shame when it was still 28°. It’s good value if you’re after a longer stay at €2,600 for 11 months. We’d read mixed reviews and weren’t sure what to expect, but the staff were welcoming. We’d happily stay again.

The gardens and hedges were nicely kept, and the pool area looked great and peaceful. We had a look around but didn’t see a children’s play area. The bar and restaurant were closed when we visited early in the day, though perhaps they open in the evening. A few people staying there were kind and helpful, and the toilets and laundry facilities looked clean and inviting. We liked what we saw.

The price felt fair for what you get. It’s quiet and clean, with wide lanes, a decent plot for a 7m car, lovely trees and flowers, and a bright purple flowering fence at the entrance. I don’t know what the plant is called. You can get a gate card with a 20€ deposit and open the gates yourself, which is handy. They really don’t allow pets. Still, people are to blame when they leave their “family member’s” mess for others, ugh! One star for the reception area facilities: there’s hot water, showers and a WC, but no soap for washing your hands.

An odd place. The shower facilities are scattered around, and some are outside or have doors without locks. There seem to be a lot of cable ties holding things together. It was fine for a night or two, but I’d check elsewhere first.
