After leaving a disgusting apartment we'd booked, we found this lovely place. The rooms were clean and really nice, right by the sea, and the owners were lovely. We'd recommend it to anyone and will be back soon.

The service is fantastic, and there's always a smiling waitress. The terrace has a wonderful sea view, the wine list is great, and the paella is the best in Torrevieja.

If you plan to be out all day and only need a bed near the beach, this place is fantastic value. The beach is just a few metres away, there are several restaurants within 100m, and the wifi is decent. We had a bedroom and what I suppose was a lounge, with a fridge, plus access to a good-sized free car park. The room was noisy and cold in March because of gaps around the door and windows, though that probably wouldn't be an issue in summer. Reception also closes at 6PM. We paid a fair price and have no complaints, but I wouldn't choose to spend a week there.

You get a lot for your money here. The rooms are basic but have what you need, and the restaurant at the front by the beach is a pleasant spot for breakfast and a smoothie. Although the prices are almost hostel-level, this is a proper hotel, not a hostel. A good choice if you don't need luxury or lots of amenities.

The Alba is a lively place to stay, and we spend many weekends in La Mata. It's right on the beach, yet very clean and quiet. The food is very good, especially the paella. It's popular with Spanish families, so you'll need to book a table.
