Hotel Masa International

The hotel bar was reasonably priced, and there was a good three-course menu for 25€, plus bar snacks and pizzas. Our room was clean and had a great balcony view along the coast. The trouble was the beds. We got two singles pushed together, which could have been fine, but they were on casters on a marble floor. Every time we moved, they rolled around. It felt like sleeping on a roller skate.

We stayed three days and found the rooms very clean, small but comfortable, with a little fridge. There are restaurants about a 10-minute walk away, and parking costs a small fee. The pool area was great, and the views were amazing. Rooms got a bit noisy in the mornings. Some of the reception and bar staff were friendly, and it was great value for the price.

The room was a nice superior one. It’s dated, but we liked that, with no cheap new-style furniture. Parking was secure and free. Breakfast was basic but OK, though the camerera only came over to check our room number after she got off her phone. We were told the bar didn’t open until 8pm, seriously. But receptionist Christian served us wine at 1600 hrs, so 10/10 for him. We’d come back.

We often stop by Hotel MASA International for dinner or a glass of wine because it’s quiet and the scenery is lovely. It’s never too crowded, and the restaurant view is popular with locals and visitors, so booking dinner is a good idea. The hotel sits on the edge of a stone hill facing the sea, with some of the prettiest views in town. When we stayed, we thought it was good value for a 3-star place. The rooms are simple and a bit dated, while the restaurant, terrace and other areas feel nearer to 4-star quality. It really feels like one of the cornerstones of Torrevieja.
