Unique Hotel Apartments

The woman at reception was really kind and helpful, and the place had a lovely atmosphere. It was near the port, beach and feria, and I felt very comfortable there. Still, the room wasn’t clean enough. The windows were very dirty when we arrived, the trash hadn’t been emptied, and there was toilet paper on the bathroom floor. I also kept finding long, dark hairs everywhere, even though we’re all blonde. It’s a shame, because I liked the feel of the place so much.

The owners were friendly and accommodating, and I’d have no hesitation recommending the place to a friend. The price was very cheap, so I wasn’t expecting much, but I was surprised: there was a great multi-jet shower, though it wasn’t advertised, a 32 inch LCD TV and a decent sized balcony. The cooking facilities were average but totally usable, and breakfast was included in the price. Thank you.

The strong smell in the room was the main reason we left. It hit me as soon as I opened the door, like varnish or paintwork, though I don’t know what it was. The room couldn’t really be ventilated, and after 15 minutes my nose and throat were scratchy and I felt dizzy. My partner felt the same. We asked if the room had just been painted, but reception said no. The hotel offered us another room after we complained, but only for one night of our four-night stay. The next day, for our health, we moved to another hotel. We asked for a refund for the unused nights and were refused. I was also astonished by the room itself. I’d paid for a room with a patio, but there was no patio and no usable window. Technically there was a tiny window, but it looked straight at very close, tall walls on every side, like being down a well. The glass was painted white, so there was no daylight, and even transparent glass wouldn’t have helped with the walls so close. The room felt like a burrow. At reception they said there was a patio and I could go outside, but there was no balcony door. The only way out would have been to climb through that small window. And why would I want to relax in a tiny well? There was no patio setup either, no lawn chair or sunshade, and no lawn or sunlight. The hotel doesn’t show pictures of this “patio” on its www, so don’t get cheated. I felt the hotel lied about its offer and strongly don’t recommend it.

The room was about what I’d expect for this star rating, but it was a good size, clean and had plenty of facilities. The people were very nice and helpful, and it’s close to the front. I’d pay the few extra euros per night over a similar-rated hotel for those reasons. The bus station is a 15-20 minute walk away.
