Hotel Bell Aire

The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful, with good suggestions for walks and places to see. It’s a clean little hotel with a good breakfast, evening meals if you want them, and a nice bar with a pool table. The decor is quirky and retro, which I liked. There’s no pool or AC, though they provide fans. Whichever side you stay on, your balcony looks out over the sea or the hills around L'Estartit. Free parking is available nearby on the beach, but after a week your car will need a wash. It’s not flash or fancy, but I’d definitely stay here again if I returned to L'Estartit.

We had a great stay. Ramon and the rest of the staff were so thoughtful, and our room was spotless, with a balcony and quite nice views. Breakfast was simple, with a few choices, but good. Hope we can come back another time! Laura, Xènia i Anna

The staff were kind and attentive, and seemed eager to make up for how poorly the hotel was presented. But the room was a small, stifling box on a 34 degree C day, with no fridge or AC, and the old fan they brought us barely helped. Heat radiated from the walls all night. We paid 105 euro for tired, battered furniture, a dingy bathroom, and sheets with small blood stains on one bed. The breakfast was just as uninspired. This run-down place is overdue for a major renovation, despite its attempt at old-world chic. It felt like communist-era austerity, and was poor value for money.

It’s a cheap, low-key hotel near the main beach, but for $100 a night I expected more. There was no parking or air conditioning, the Wi-Fi barely worked, and our towels weren’t in the room when we arrived. We assumed that was normal, then asked later and got some.
